About Karen Foster French
Karen Foster French, M.Ed. is a Child Development Specialist and Parent Educator with over 25 years experience in the special needs community. Currently Karen runs a consulting practice dedicated to assisting families raising children with special needs. Karen's commitment to children and families stems from a combination of her professional expertise and her personal experience as the mother of a child with special needs, as well as the sibling of an adult brother with special needs.
Karen received her Master's Degree in Education with a specialty in Early Childhood Special Education from The University of Texas at Austin. She has taught in preschool, elementary and childcare settings, run parent support groups, and facilitated numerous workshops for both caregivers and educators. Recently she published her first children's book, "Smile, it's OK to be you!"
